Hong Kong - Zettler electronics (HK) Ltd., Announcement COG (Chip On Glass) LCD module for both Character and Graphic display which suited for portable application such as PDAs and other handheld devices. COG is now engineers’ choice of display for nearly all new projects that require monochrome graphic displays.

The construction for a COG display involves a chip that is bonded to a LCD by ACF (Anisotropic Conductive Film) directly, which spares from the need in PCB, zebra or heat seal connectors. This process generally results in a lower unit price of the LCD. In addition, this type of COG technology offers high dot density and compactness.

• Chip-On-Glass (COG) construction
• Types of LCD glass: STN, FSTN, DSTN, ISTN
• Resolutions: from 08x01 to 320x240, character/graphic displays
• HSC, FPC, or metal pins - interface for customers
• Maximum physical size: 5 inches
• The smallest pixel gap to 0.01mm

Applications:

COG modules feature small dimensions and are widely used for small sized telecommunications devices or hand-held instruments. To maximize compactness, COG modules are offered with a flexible connector interface. Flex connectors are used in all our existing standard COG modules.

There are some standard modules which are COG type, such as ACM0801C, ACM0802F, ACM1602AC, AGM1264P, AGM2416B and AGM1064A etc.
